Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 the ‘duty holder’ (the person or organisation that has clear responsibility for the maintenance or repair of non-domestic premises through an explicit agreement such as a tenancy agreement or contract) has a duty to manage the risk from asbestos containing materials (ACMs). Enforced by the Health & Safety Executive since November 2006, the new Regulations aim to tackle asbestos related disease, which is the biggest occupational health killer in the UK.

Surveying Solutions have three Chartered Building Surveyors who are accredited by the British Occupational Hygiene Society, Proficiency Module P402, to undertake building surveys and bulk sampling for asbestos. Depending on your requirements, we can undertake Management Surveys (formerly known as Type 1 & 2 surveys) in order to locate, as far as reasonably practical, the presence and extent of any suspected ACMs in the building and assess their condition. All of our surveys meet or exceed the standards laid down in HSG Asbestos: The Survey Guide.
